Children's Events, Programs, and Services

The children’s department offers an abundance of resources and opportunities for the children, parents, teachers, homeschoolers and daycare providers of the New London area. Throughout the school year, the library offers programming for children from birth to 5th grade. In addition, the library offers outreach services and welcomes group visits large or small.

The Children's Librarian can conduct library tours, teach library skills and provide special storytimes. For teachers and home school providers, library staff can help reserve materials and locate multiple resources for student use. The children’s librarian can also visit area schools and daycares for various programs. Nursery Buckets are available to preschool and daycares as additional learning materials. Thematic based kits containing books, puzzles, puppets and other materials for supplemental purposes. Recipients receive a different Nursery Bucket each month for the whole school year.
